Immaculate Reception

I never tire of watching this. Back when the game mattered and players were famous for being athletes not famous for being assholes.

Dedicating this post to my dad for being a true football fan and making me the football fan I am today.

This tape collection gets bigger every minute

Not really sure how a promo only UK only cassette ended up at a thrift store in Queens but I will gladly add it to my collection. Nice little mix {same on side A as side B} by Mark Ronson to promote D’Angelo’s 2000 release Voodoo.

Proenza Schouler PS1 Wallet

New wallet, y’all! *aaaaaaairhorn* After obsessing over it, I finally purchased the Proenza Schouler PS1 wallet. I went with the teal to break my habit of always buying black wallets. A wise choice as it really brightens up the inside of my bag. It’s actually pretty large too and can double as a clutch. A definite upgrade from my old American Apparel coin purse.

The Selby has Alzheimer’s?

The Selby is one of my favorite sites. Super interesting people in real, lived in spaces.

The latest entry showcases Saturday’s Colin Tunstall’s Manhattan apartment. It’s pretty cool to say the very least. But …

It’s also been photographed by The Selby before. Three years ago it was featured as Jauretsi Saizarbitoria’s Manhattan apartment. I actually posted about it back then here.

I’m not really sure what the deal is here. Exact same Martinique wallpaper shot in the bedroom. Exact same shot of Jenny Holzer’s wooden postcard on the front door. Photos below. Contrast and compare.

Frozen Meatballs

Man oh man I have been laaaazzzyyy when it comes to cooking lately. It’s just hard to sacrifice the temperature in my apartment by turning the oven and/or burners on long enough to make something good. Enter: Trader Joe’s frozen meatballs. Hello lovers. I toss these bad boys in with a large can of crushed or diced tomatoes, a few heads of garlic and some basil. Pappardelle has been my pasta of choice lately. I like a flat, broad noodle. Little arugula side salad and I’m happy.

The Breeders “Pod” has been my favorite record for nearly 20 years and I really don’t see that ever changing. The real crime here is that I don’t own it on vinyl. There’s a 180 gram re-release somewhere out there. Anyway, here’s the video for “Hellbound”:

Basketball Hall of Fame

Labor Day weekend brought me to Springfield, MA and the Basketball Hall of Fame. Being a former baller myself {I scored 4 points in one game in 8th grade BOOYAH} I was pretty excited to go. Unfortunately, there was not as much love for Charles Barkley as I had hoped for but the Air Jordan section made up for it. Here’s a few shots:

Purple China

The crown jewels of my grandmother’s collection {in my opinion} are finally mine. I’ll probably be too shook to actually use them but cotdamn they look nice.

Beautiful Garbage

Pretentious title but I think it’s a pretty shot.
